The Picasso box is what I was given for my Chef Ole Review. It came with Citrus Sea Salt, Smoked Paprika, Olive Pate, Balsamic, and Olive Oil. First, I have to say this is an incredible value for under $50!
I will go through the gourmet goodies in a moment! Each year around the holidays we send gift baskets out to various people. I had never heard of Chef Ole until they reached out to me. I am excited they did! This is the perfect gift for foodies and anyone who loves to sample international cuisine. I love not only trying new foods, but also sharing what I get enthusiastic about with my friends and family. What a spread to put out for a cocktail party or Holiday get together!
Let’s Dive In To My Chef Ole Review! Ole!
The Olive Oil
The extra virgin olive oil is directly from Spain and was superior to any I have tried. A staple of our dinner table is fresh bread with olive oil. And yes, we all know my two little girls are tiny foodies in the making! So of course they went mad for this olive oil. Bea would have drunk the authentically packaged box!
Where other olive oils leave a tinge of bitterness on your palette, Chef Ole’s did not. This olive oil had flavor, a crispness that was fresh and silky, and a pure color. I would buy the box for this olive oil alone!
So finally Grant and I found the thick balsamic we had been searching for since the days we ate our way through Seattle! Or I suppose it found me! We first had a thick balsamic drizzle over a Mediterranean style pizza. Who would’ve thought balsamic like this would be hard to find at local markets, but it was. 7 years later, it’s all mine!! Ok, ok, I’ll share it with you all too!
This balsamic adds a glorious tangy sweetness to the olive oil, as a drizzle over pizza, tapas, or in salad dressing.

Citric Sea Salt
As you can see by the gaping space in this bottle, we have thoroughly enjoyed this citric sea salt as well! We sprinkled this salt over roasted veggies, chicken, dipping. and as an addition to the olive oil dipping.
The salt gives a hint of citrus to the dish, brightening up the flavor profile while not being overpowering.
The salt is beautiful sprinkled over fresh bread rolls, and adds the texture and gives a new gourmet twist to a take on where you would usually used flaked sea salt in savory dishes. Next time I whip up my Spicy Eggplant Marinara Sauce, I will be sure to use this when I roast the veggies.
The Smoked Paprika gives a subtle smokiness and a hint of spice along with a vibrant color. I found that I enjoyed this smoked paprika most when I used it as a rub on poultry. It is a true match with the citric sea salt when used to liven up chicken! The spice infused into the chicken without being too smoky. This is a perfect spice to use with meat when it is too chilly to grill and you want to still infuse that grilled flavor when oven baking. And lastly, the Olive Pate added depth to a usual mushroom pate I whip up for appetizers. The pate is salty and has some tangy bite, which is awesome as an appetizer with crackers.

Smoked Paprika Citrus Chicken Wings
Using Chef Ole Gourmet Goodies!
- 2 lbs. chicken drumsticks
- 2 tablespoons Chef Ole Olive Oil
- 1.5 teaspoon Chef Ole Citric Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon Chef Ole Smoked Paprika
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil. In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with oil, salt, and paprika. Lay in a single layer on baking sheet. Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway.
