This layered berry cheesecake dessert is made with macerated berries, cake, and no bake cheesecake mousse for a light, fresh, and gorgeous Summer dessert! This is a fast, easy, and basic dessert that is designed to impress with only little effort.
Making mini versions of this layered berry dessert trifle is great for giving out individual desserts after a barbecue or festive get together on your deck.
As you saw from my , maceratinh fruit just means you want to marinade it in sugar and some type of liquid like alcohol or citrus juice. For this layered berry cheesecake dessert, you’ll use fresh lemon juice for both the strawberries and blueberries.
First, cut up your strawberries and put them in a bowl. Then, sprinkle on sugar and lemon juice. Toss up coat then set aside.
Do the same with the blueberries, skipping the slicing part!
No-Bake Cheesecake Mousse
Meanwhile, in a bowl, whip up your heavy whipping cream until stiff with a then set aside. In a large bowl, combine your softened cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Beat with a Hand Mixer until fluffy. Then fold the whipped cream into this to form a mousse. Easy, right?!
Assembling the Layered Berry Cheesecake dessert
Note that you can opt out of using cake for this recipe. I usually use Great Grandma Sophia’s Butter Cake when making a trifle like, however, this cheesecake mousse goes beautifully with the macerated berries on its own. Alternatively, angel food cake works perfectly!
On to layering!
This recipe will give you enough to make four individual layered berry cheesecake dessert cups that look gorgeous in, Trifle Bowl Set.
First, put a layer of strawberries. Then put cake, if using. Top with a layer of the no-bake cheesecake mousse. Then top with blueberries.
Let this chill for about an hour for the cheesecake to set.

Layered Berry Cheesecake Dessert
Layered Berry Cheesecake Dessert has macerated berries with cheesecake mousse and butter cake to give a layered, festive dessert, perfect for summer!
- 1 pint strawberries sliced
- 1 pint blueberries
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream (or cool whip) whipped
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- juice of 1 large lemon
- 2 tab sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place strawberries and blueberries in separate bowl. Toss each with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 2 tsp. of lemon juice. Set aside to macerate.
In a large bowl,, use a hand mixer to whisk cream cheese with remaining sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Then, fold in whipped cream.
Layer your trifle cups: strawberries then cake then cheesecake mousse then blueberries.
Allow to chill for 30 minutes to set the no-bake cheesecake.
You can leave out the cake for a cheesecake mousse and berry dessert.
For a trifle, add in chunks of butter or angel food cake.
