Summer is in full swing and with a heat wave scorching the Midwest, we are all about warm weather recipes these days. Summer cannot go on another day without a bright and beautiful Summer Sangria! This Summer Sangria is easy and can be considered a “skinny cocktail” since I omit sugar. I do this since I use sweet fruits that release their juices into the drink as it chills. This gives plenty of sweetness and robust fruit flavor that harmonizes with the fruit tones and crispness of the white wine. Also, I love wine and aim to let its pureness, flavor, and beauty shine through in my recipes.
The Best White Wine For This Summer Sangria
When choosing a white wine varietal to use for Sangria, you want to choose a wine that is unoaked and dry. Opt for a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. Choose a wine that you love to drink on its own. You will be infusing this wine with fruit and a special blend of liquors, so this wouldn’t be the recipe to grab the most expensive white for! Furthermore, choose a wine that has fruit tones that will be enhanced with the fruit you intend to use for your Sangria. My White Wine Cake With Macerated Peaches was such a hit that I decided it was time to use Sauvignon Blanc in another recipe.

This Summer sangria will have a blend of peach, mango, orange, along with Sauvignon blanc, white rum, peach schnapps, and bit of sparkling water to top it all off. This Summer Sangria is refreshing, crisp, elegant, and vibrant! The wine, fruits, and flavors are all about Summer! Add the garnish of your choice to take it a step further in presentation and subtle flavor enhancement. I chose fresh lavender sprigs. Fresh mint would be another gorgeous and colorful option for a Summer sangria.
How to Make Summer Sangria
The first step in making this Summer Sangria is to cut up your fruit. You will peel and dice up your mango. Then slice the peaches. And lastly, thinly slice half of a medium-sized orange.
The second step in making this Summer Sangria is to add all of that fruit into a Glass Pitcher. Then just pour over your white wine, rum, and peach schnapps. If you choose to add some sugar (see notes in recipe), you would add it now. Then, as you are about to serve it, add an optional cup of sparkling water. Upon serving, garnish each glass with a sprig of lavender or mint.

Summer Sangria is refreshing, crisp, and tropical! This white wine sangria is infused with peach, mango, orange, and a special blend of clear liquors. The perfect cold drink for hot days.
- 1 bottle Sauvignon Blanc
- 1/4 cup white rum
- 1/4 cup Peach Schnapps
- 1 Mango Peeled & Diced
- 1 Peach Sliced
- 1/2 orange thinly sliced
- 1 cup unflavored sparkling water
- 2-4 tablespoons agave or simple syrup OPTIONAL
- 4 mint or lavender springs for garnish
First, cut up all of your fruit as indicated.
Then, in a large pitcher, add in all of the ingredients except for the sparkling water.
Let summer sangria chill for at least 3 hours.
Upon serving, add sparkling water and add a garnish in each glass,
If you want a sweeter summer sangria, go ahead and add some sugar in simple syrup form so the sugar is dissolved.
Another great option is agave.
For simple syrup, use equal parts water and sugar and simmer for a few minutes Then allow to cool completely before adding to wine.
