Since it is finally chilly in St. Louis, its definitely time to cozy up with Fall treats like this pumpkin pie spice latte with a Chai Spiced Cinnamon Roll! We decided to take the pumpkin spice latte plunge this morning and make our own. We saved a few dollars and time, and this homemade pumpkin spice latte is more natural since it eliminates the use of flavored syrup. To make this latte vegan, use nut milk or coconut milk of your choice in place of milk. In the recipe section notes I have a couple other optional substitutes for sweeteners as well.

It did so well that it is now the most anticipated drink of the holiday season. Though this year the pumpkin spice latte made its debut in the hot summer month of August! And I thought only food bloggers released their holiday treats early!

How to Make Pumpkin Pie Spice Latte
Brew up some strong coffee or make a shot (or two) of espresso. In a saucepan, heat up all your ingredients except for the vanilla extract. Bring it to almost a simmer then remove from the heat. Then add the vanilla extract. Pour into a blender or Vitamix. Froth it up on medium to medium high! Then pour into a mug and sprinkle on a little nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice. And there you have a homemade pumpkin pie spice latte in less than five minutes without even changing out of your PJ’s!
