It’s the countdown to Christmas, and I am kicking off the festivities with Candy Cane Vodka! This was the first year I let my kids have candy canes. Big mistake. Now they’re addicted to that minty sugar rush and I needed a way to rid this house of all the temptation.
Plus, we have had a different random but major repair going on in our house everyday this week. So I’ve been planted in the house for different five hour time windows waiting on repairmen all week. I’m cranky, irritated, and in desperate need of a strong cocktail by the end of the night. So easily, candy cane vodka seemed like the right remedy to detox the kids and to get me in a better mood!
Candy cane vodka is minty, sweet, with a bold kick of alcohol that will add festive flair to all of your holiday cocktails. This will be a big hit at any of the holiday parties you have planned this year. Candy Cane vodka is also a must while binge watching Christmas movies. It gets you jolly and just makes the movies so much better…!
Candy Cane Infusion
You won’t believe how easy it is to infuse alcohol. Just like in my timur pepper gin and tonic, this candy cane vodka is all about infusion. It is made by dissolving candy canes into vodka over several hours. All you need for this Santa approved vodka is a few broken up candy canes, vodka, and a mason jar that closes up.
This is one of the easiness, homemade ways to add a special twist to your drinks this season. And the use of fresh candy canes brighten up the vodka, turning it into a vibrant red color. This homemade candy cane vodka is so much better than the store bought version. It is also a breeze to make!
To make the best Christmas vodka ever, break up standard size candy canes. Put the pieces into a glass mason jar. Then pour over the vodka. Next, give it a good shake. Set the jar in the fridge for a few hours or until all of the candy canes are dissolved. This usually takes 4-6 hours, or overnight if you make a huge batch of the candy cane vodka.
Before using it in a cocktail, give it a shake.
Countdown To Christmas
I used this candy cane vodka in my holiday spin of a Peppermint White Russian. With my Countdown to Christmas, I’ll be posting almost daily on YouTube. So for more holiday recipes like this one and other holiday content, go check it out here: YouTube.
