  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon maple extract or use 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 strips cooked bacon crumbled

Maple Glaze

Instructions

Donuts

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Note that this recipe makes 8 donuts or about 36 donut holes

    Cook bacon and set aside.

    Grease donut pan (s)

    1. In a large bowl, combine all of your wet ingredients. Then add in your flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

(You can premix the dry ingredients beforehand or throw caution to the donut wind and make this a one bowl dish!)

    2. Fold in crumbled bacon.

    3. Fill a piping bag. Cut the tip. Then pipe out donuts.

    4. Bake for approx 10-12 minutes. Insert toothpick to check.

    5. Allow to cool while you make maple icing.

Maple Icing

  1. Mix up all of your ingredients, except bacon, with a whisk.

Then dip donuts into the icing. Set onto a cooling rack with parchment underneath to catch the icing drippings.

    Sprinkle with chopped bacon.
