Salty, Sweet, Chewy, with a crunch of pretzels, these salted butterscotch pretzel blondies are a crowd pleasing treat that are simple to make!
And let’s be honest, during the holidays there’s so much holiday cheer (aka stress overload) going on that you need a sweet treat or Candy Cane vodka within reach at all times!
Since I have been doing a daily Countdown To Christmas with different holiday recipes and videos on my Youtube Channel, I’ve been really busy. So easy and quick recipes like this that are also incredible tasty have been important. I love blondies, especially when they have butterscotch and pretzels!

Blondies provide a rich, brown sugar based canvas to endless mix ins. Blondies are chewy and soft in the middle, with a shiny crackling outer crust with thick and crisp edges. Blondies take only a couple of minutes to prepare in one bowl and only about 25 minutes to bake. These salted butterscotch pretzel Blondies have rich butterscotch chips and crushed pretzels with flaky sea salt that delivers all the flavor and textures you want in a dessert bar.

One bowl treat
It doesn’t get any better than a one bowl treat! I hate doing dishes. In fact, that’s the only part of being a food blogger and avid chef that gets me down. When I can simplify my recipes and cut out time and mess, that’s a winning dish! These salted butterscotch pretzel blondies fit that criteria. And they’re so simple that my 2 and four year olds made these.
These salted butterscotch pretzel blondies are such a perfect mix of sweet and salty. They can be made in bulk and are a fun addition to all the cookie swaps and care packages going around during this time of the year.
They’re also super addicting and a butterscotch lovers sweet tooth haven. You’ve been warned!

Shiny, Crackly Top
The coveted shiny top on brownies and blondies are a lot easier than they seem. To achieve it, follow these steps. Preheat your oven and butter a baking dish. Break up some pretzels. But also reserve some whole ones to press on top for presentation.
First, melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl. Make sure it is hot, sizzling, and completely melted!
Second, put your brown sugar into a mixing bowl and whisk the melted butter in. Whisk for a minute until the sugar is getting dissolved and no longer grainy. Grainy brownies happen when the sugar doesn’t dissolve during the mixing stage.
Next, add your eggs and whisk it for a couple of minutes before adding in the vanilla extract.
Then, add your flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold the dry ingredients in.
Next, fold in your pretzel pieces and butterscotch chips. Then spread the salted butterscotch pretzel blondies into a baking pan. Press on some extra pretzels and butterscotch chips. Sprinkle with the sea salt flakes.
Bake for approximately 26 minutes.
Allow the blondies to cool then slice and polish them off!
These are so perfect for cookie swaps, and easily doubled or tripled for larger crowds.
